Eating right can seem like a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. At the Y, our Registered Dietitians can support your wellness journey with individual nutrition counseling and education.

Why Consult With a Registered Dietitian

A registered dietitian is a medical professional certified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. An RD must hold a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, have a 900-hour professional internship and pass a board certifying exam.

Meet Your Y’s Registered Dietitian

Christina DiLoreto, RD LD CDE


Christina is new to Jacksonville having relocated here from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center where she studied clinical nutrition. Early on, Christina found a passion for people with diabetes, particularly Type 1. She became a Certified Diabetes Educator and is recognized by her peers as an expert in the field. Most recently, she has worked in the diabetes technology space hoping to improve quality of life with technology advances for people with diabetes. Christina sought out the First Coast YMCA to reconnect with the community around her. Christina and her husband, a Jacksonville native, live in Riverside with their two dogs, Hudson and Roxy. In her free time, she is a competitive sailor or can be found at the beach.

Emily Brantley, RDN LD/N


Emily is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from Jacksonville, Florida. She received her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Florida. Emily has worked in the community providing nutrition education for the Health Department with the Women, Infants and Children program. She went on to gain clinical experience as a Dietitian working for the Florida Hospital and Mayo Clinic before joining the Y in 2017. Emily is passionate about nutrition and enjoys helping others learn lifestyle habits to positively impact their health. In her free time, she likes to travel, dance in Zumba and watch HGTV. Kerri is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, who specializes in adult/child weight management, age management/disease prevention, sports nutrition, and eating disorders. Kerri is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and has completed her Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management. Kerri develops and teaches adult and child nutrition and cooking classes, provides individual nutrition counseling and believes it takes setting small goals and support to make healthier food and lifestyle choices. Kelly is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her B.S. from University of North Florida in 2007 and has been working with the Jacksonville community ever since! She has a passion for helping families find real life solutions to eating right in moderation, healthy grocery shopping, and preparing easy, healthy meals. Nutrition Packages

Individual Consult with Meal Plan

Meet with a registered dietitian for a half-hour or one-hour session to receive personalized calorie, protein, carbohydrates, and fat needs, a suggested meal plan according to those needs, and guidance on implementing healthier eating habits. Registered dietitians are also available for disease specific counseling (i.e. Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Allergies, etc.).

Youth and Family Nutrition Consult

In YMCA Youth and Family Nutrition Consultations, our dietitians work together with you to help your child develop healthy habits through family nutrition support. Conveniently located at your neighborhood YMCA, we will create individual nutrition plans, discuss how to manage chronic diseases or illnesses, and achieve personal health goals as your child gets older.

YMCA Member Rate: Full-Hour – $70.00
Non-member Rate: Full-Hour – $85.00

Metabolism Testing

During this half-hour or one-hour consultation, a MedGem Metabolic Testing Device is used to measure your resting metabolism. A registered dietitian will use the numbers generated by the MedGem to determine your total calorie needs to reach your personal fitness goals. A one-hour consult includes the metabolism test, health status assessment, usual dietary intake, pertinent nutrition education, counseling and a personalized meal plan. A half-hour consult includes the metabolism test and an activity analysis.
